Design your Digital Classroom

Design your Digital Classroom | elearning_moodle_schools | Scoop.it

"I have just returned from the Illinois Computing Educators Conference where I had the opportunity to facilitate a full day session titled Design Your Digital Classroom. This session wasn't about the ratio of students to machines, nor was it a prescription for using one type of technology.  The focus was on how to use technology as a tool for learning to support all learners in the 24/7 classroom." Susan Oxnevad.

Susan's website offers a WEALTH of resources!

She is facilitating a series of webinars this June. Details to register can be found here: http://d97cooltools.blogspot.com/p/ice-2011.html

8 Free and simple tools for teachers to create video tutorials

8 Free and simple tools for teachers to create video tutorials | elearning_moodle_schools | Scoop.it

"One of the important digital skills that the 21st century teachers should have is the ability to create video tutorials to share with students.....

For use in education, a tutorial can be just a simple video explaining a difficult concept or a methodical process that walk students through different steps and stages. There are several free tools to help you do that and you do not need any advanced technology skills to use them; all you need is a solid will and a committment to what you want to do."

Why can’t Johnny blog? | elearning_moodle_schools | Scoop.it
Guy is among a growing faction of Ontario parents, teachers, and education specialists who believe kids need more technology in the classroom, from blogs to Facebook, mobile devices and beyond. Without it, they argue, children’s education will become woefully irrelevant in today’s fast-changing world—think of it as 21st century illiteracy..

PDF of presentation from Mobile Learning Experience 2012 (http://mobile2012.org)

Presented by Felix Jacomino, Director of Technology at St. Stephen's Episcopal Day School, with Inge Wassmann

Description: “The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move
with it, and join the dance.” -Alan Watts
Learn what one technology team experienced from initiation to implementation of iPads in a school in the heart of Coconut Grove, Florida.
“Computer teachers” have transformed into “technology integrators” and move from within the lab to the classroom, the campus, and beyond.
Integrators must understand the 4 C’s of 21st century skills and how project based teaching and learning supports it.
• What comes first? Teachers? Students? Devices? Professional
development?
• Obstacles to overcome
• Resistant teachers: “This is just a fad!”
• Hardware/Software logistics
