Health related stress is a greater issue than acknowledged by public. Generational differences in social media use to handle stress: Millennials prefer to talk or text it, adolescents and adults FB it. Look to FB to find stressed out Asian Americans, and Twitter to find the same stressed African Americans.  The under 25 set blog their stress so avoid Tumblr if you're feeling happy and want to stay that way.

More proof that disadvantaged patients can be reached effectively with ehealth tools if done in the right way. In this case, texting intervention directed at improving maternal and child health and prenatal care for Medicaid recipients in New York. Response rates of between 30-60%, with 32% taking action within 2 months.  Also, much higher ROI than with mailers, voicemail, and email.

A new study has found that federally funded health centers are outpacing ambulatory providers in their adoption of EHR systems, advanced EHR functionalities.

Good news that CHC's are adopting EHR's at a faster clip than ever--80% of study population--and that those adopting EHR's are less dependent on grant revenue, while having higher patient volume.  As safety net providers who are seeing a tremendous increase in formerly uninsured populations due to ACA eligibility, it bodes well for better understanding the health status, and improving treatment for medically underserved patients.
