Libyan border crossings with Egypt will be opened on Sunday, said Libyan Prime Minister Ali Zeidan on Friday. Zeidan who has been in Egypt on an official visit for two days met the mayors and the sect leaders in Mersa Matruh city in the north of Egypt.

The Sudanese government on Sunday expressed unhappiness with the reluctance of Egypt to implement the Four Freedoms agreement signed in 2004 despite a revolution that brought a new government to power.
The head of Egyptian affairs at the Sudanese foreign ministry Esam Awad said in press statements that Egypt remains unwilling to allow Sudanese males between the ages of 18-49 to benefit from the agreement. Furthermore, Egypt wants its citizens to have freehold ownership rights which Awad says contradicts the lease law in Sudan.(...)
The Four Freedom Agreement guarantees to citizens from the two countries freedom of movement and residence, right to work and property. It was signed in Cairo by former president Hosni Mubarak and Sudanese president Omer Hassan al-Bashir on 18 January 2004.
Egypt under Mubarak feared a massive influx by refugees or even terrorists from Sudan if the accord was implemented.
On the decades-long border dispute over Halayeb triangle in the borders, Awad said that Sudan insists on its sovereignty over the area but added that the time is not ripe for discussing the matter because of the current political instability in Egypt.
He revealed that the opening of the border crossings has been delayed again at the request of Egypt which was originally scheduled for early March.

Residents of the western cities of Salloum and Sidi Barrani blocked the highway leading to Libya in protest against new rules requiring Egyptians to apply for visas ahead of time. According to people living in the area, the decree was announced Tuesday without warning following a five-day closure of the Salloum border crossing between Egypt and Libya. They say Egyptians must now get approval from the Libyan Embassy. In response, demonstrating Egyptians are preventing Libyans from entering Egyptian territory and have said they will do so until visa requirements are reversed. They are also stopping vehicles loaded with goods from crossing the border. Around 820 vehicles are currently gathered in and around the Salloum crossing awaiting entry to Libya. C'est un pont de 50 kilomètres qui devrait relier Tabouk et Charm al Cheikh respectivement en Arabie saoudite et en Egypte et dont Israêl proteste la construction car selon lui " l'ouvrage met en danger la sécurité de la navigation via le passage de Tiran prévue dans les accords de camp David." La construction de l'ouvrage avait été suspendu vers la fin du règne de Moubarak, justement en raison de ces mêmes protestations, mais elle vient d'être reprise. En effet Israël occupe depuis la guerre de six jours, deux iles saoudiennes de Tiran et de Tanafi et le pont en question traverserait la région voisine de ces îles, ce qui est considérée comme " une menace" par Israël. l'Arabie saoudite ne s'est jamais permis de réclamer cette partie de son territoire aux Israéliens qui pourrait lui ouvrir un nouveau passage vers la mer rouge. En revanche, les prétentions territoriales des Emirats sur trois iles iraniennes du golfe Persique lui a donné toujours le prétexte de déverser ses flots de haines et de dénonciations à l'adresse de l'Iran. Riyad est un allié de Tel -Aviv.

Military Spokesperson Ahmed Mohamed Ali said border troops in a military area in western Egypt have thwarted an attempt to smuggle rockets into the country. The Armed Forces said that it will continue foiling attempts that aim to destabilize the country, adding that it was intensifying its efforts to secure Egypt's borders.

Trucks have been waiting for days to enter Libya
The blockade of the Egyptian border crossing by residents from Sollum has intensified with as many as three thousand trucks reported to be stuck on the Egyptian side and unable to cross into Libya. According to the Cairo daily Al-Ahram, the Egyptian Ministry of Defence had now ordered the army to turn back goods vehicles wanting to cross into Libya in a effort to reduce congestion at the border.
Locals have been blockading the border since it was “reopened” on 19 February after a five-day closure by the Libyan authorities because of concerns about security during the second anniversary celebrations of the 17 February Revolution.
The protests followed reports that Libya had tightened visa requirements for Egyptians. However, Libya says there are no new visa procedures for Egyptians, all of whom have to have visas to enter the country. Nonetheless, it is reported that Egyptians living on the border were able to cross without them and that this has now been stopped.

À côté des dictionnaires généraux qui embrassent plusieurs états de la langue égyptienne, comme le classique Wörterbuch der ägyptischen Sprache d’Erman et Grapow ou le Großes Handwörterbuch de Hannig, on déplore l’absence d’outils modernes dont le premier public sont les étudiants qui commencent l’étude de la langue égyptienne.
Le volume qui est présenté ici est un lexique moyen égyptien – français. Son but avoué est d’abord de rendre service aux étudiants qui entament un premier cycle d’étude en moyen égyptien. Ce n’est donc pas un dictionnaire scientifique de référence. Son ambition est limitée : d’abord par le nombre de mots retenus (env. 2500), ensuite par le nombre restreint de renseignements qu’il contient. Le lecteur trouvera pour chaque mot une graphie, jugée la plus représentative, la transcription, l’appartenance à une classe de mots, et une traduction standard. On retiendra toutefois deux innovations majeures : d’abord, le regroupement des mots en fonction de la racine ; ensuite, une liste des mots classés en fonction du classificateur sémantique.
Le corpus considéré est, en gros, l’égyptien classique (textes littéraires et textes d’affichage) et le moyen égyptien (textes de la pratique). L’ère chronologique couverte va de la Première Période Intermédiaire jusqu’à la xviiie dyn.
En préambule, le lecteur trouvera une présentation générale, volontairement réduite, de l’écriture hiéroglyphique, de l’histoire de la langue égyptienne, de la formation des mots, et un aperçu synthétique de la grammaire de l’égyptien classique.

Jean WINAND est professeur ordinaire à l’Université de Liège et Doyen de la Faculté de Philosophie et Lettres. Ses domaines de recherche sont la langue et la philologie de l’Égypte ancienne. Il a publié, entre autres, Études de néo-égyptien. La morphologie verbale (1992), Grammaire raisonnée de l’Égyptien classique(1999, avec Michel Malaise), Temps et Aspect en égyptien. Pour une approche sémantique (2006).
Alessandro STELLA est doctorant à l’Université de Liège, où il étudie les verbes de perception visuelle en égyptien ancien selon une perspective diachronique. Ses domaines de recherche sont la lexicologie, la lexicographie, la sémantique lexicale et la philologie.
