Muhammad ElGendy has passed away... | Égypt-actus | Scoop.it
Egypt-actus's insight:

His initial medical report includes:
Marks of wires on the neck.
Marks of electric shock on the tongue.
Three broken ribs.
Marks of fire burns in the back and abdomen.
Marks of severe hitting with sharp objects in the face, abdomen, back and legs.

----

Mohammed disappeared several days ago to be found by his friends in a hospital between life and death... The Hospital tried to claim that he arrived in a car accident, despite the contradictions in the story and the marks on his body.

-----

Ms. Samia, mother of Mohamed El-Gendy, a member of the opposition: the officer cursed me to my son, so my son cursed him back, so they took my son and kept torturing him until he died.

Health Ministry: 40 killed, 1,139 injured in nationwide violence

Forty people have been killed and 1,139 injured nationwide in clashes that erupted Thursday, the Health Ministry said in a statement Sunday.

The ministry said injured victims sustained injuries from live bullets, birdshot and tear gas inhalation.

Port Said had the largest number of deaths, with the Health Ministry saying 31 people were killed in clashes between police and protesters angry over a court ruling that sentenced 21 residents to death over a bloody stadium massacre in the canal city last year.

Other sources have put the Port Said death toll higher.

Egypt-actus's insight:

The ministry said 555 people were injured in Port Said since the violence began, including 110 people who were injured Sunday during a funeral for the people killed Saturday.

Among those injured Sunday in Port Said were three people who were shot by live bullets and one by birdshot.

In Suez, nine people were killed Friday during protests against President Mohamed Morsy on the second anniversary of the 25 January revolution.

The statement said that so far, 172 were injured in Cairo, 102 in Alexandria, 29 in Gharbiya, 26 in Beheira, 89 in Suez, 77 in Ismailia, 22 in Sharqiya, 10 in Daqahlia, 35 in Damietta, six in Kafr al-Sheikh, six in Minya, one in Fayoum and one in Luxor.
