BBC delves into ancient Egypt | Égypt-actus |

Dr Joann Fletcher is set to follow Mary Beard as the BBC’s latest female history expert, with a series on ancient Egypt.

The research fellow at the University of York will front 2 x 60-minute BBC2 show Ancient Egypt: Life & Death In The Valley Of The Kings as part of a raft of fresh history commissions for the channel.

In Fletcher’s first television series, she aims to cast light on the everyday lives of ordinary ancient Egyptians. The show does this through the prism of a married couple, who gave their entire lives to the service of their famous masters in the tomb-builder’s town of Deir el-Medina.
