Principles of Effective Teaching | Infographic | Professional EDUcators | eLEADERship | eSkills | EFL Teaching Journal | Scoop.it
Pinnacle's principles of effective teaching are grounded in research into practices that have the largest impact on student learning. Yet, they are practical and written in plain English.

Garlyn Wacker's curator insight, May 21, 1:07 PM

Being an effective teacher contributes to having a productive classroom.  The ten tips of being an effective teacher are valuable, yet simple.  The top three that I find important are: "Understand students, but don't excuse their behavior," "Model the tasks and behaviors that you want students to learn," and "Continue learning new ways to be an effective teacher."  These principles are appropriate for teachers at any level.  It is a valuable article to reflect on.

Alfio Gangemi's curator insight, May 24, 8:17 PM

Good to see that the extra work that a teacher puts in to being a 'great teacher' really pays dividends to the student in the form of achievement.

INteresting view of the importance teachers have on students motivation to learn.

Dorothy Retha Cook's curator insight, May 18, 5:01 PM

POSITIVE ATTITUDES CAN APPEAR TO BE NEGATIVE AT TIMES. WE OFTEN WONDERED HOW WE WAS SUPPOSE TO BE WILLINGLY SERVANTS WITH JOYFUL ATTITUDE UNTIL WE REALISED SOME OF THE NEGATIVE HAPPENED INTENTIONALY AND AS SUCH IT REMOVED SOME OF THE NEGATIVE THAT WE WOULD NEVER OWN UP TO BUT IS SOME WHERE WITHIN US AND EITHER WE KNOW IT BUT YET DENY IT OR DENY IT BUT KNOW IT IS THERE. BUT THERE ARE THINGS THAT OCCUR THAT WILL MAKE A NEGATIVE LOOKING SITUATION OR CIRCUMSTANCE WITH U/WE REVEAL THE POSITIVE ATTITUDE THAT IS IN THE HEART REFLECTED OUT.

Heutagogy: designing for self-directed learners

Heutagogy: designing for self-directed learners | EFL Teaching Journal | Scoop.it
While acknowledging that the whole concept of self-determination – or ‘Google
learning’ as it has been called, pejoratively, in certain circles – is fraught with the potential for missing the point, being distracted into rabbit warrens or just getting bad information, we would like to emphasise that this is only a potential.

===> Any learning theory is only as good as the way in which it is applied and worked through, and we have seen it produce highly successful results where correctly applied, in the right circumstances. <===

Watch this space for chapter and verse, as we will soon be publishing case studies of several recent programmes that feature high levels of learner self-direction.

Learners are changing, learning is changing – and heutagogy can give important clues about rebalancing the burden of responsibilities and permissions in an always-on, networked, instructorless, post-course world.

1- protagonizar a própria aprendizagem

2- educadores mantem foco no processo de aprendizagem ao inves do conteudo

3- evita-se aprendizagem focada no educador

4- migra-se para o "mundo da aprendizagem"

5- explora e aprende praticando auto escolha e acao auto direcionada

6- avancar alem da disciplina
