How to make a puppet using: A sock, pingpong ball and icecream container.
Get every student to bring to school - an old/new sock or even a pair of socks to make one/two characters. Once the students have made their puppets, have them answer questions such as, "What's it's name?" "Where is it from?" "How did you meet him/her?" "What's his favourite food?" etc... Then ask the students to introduce their puppet to their friends puppets and so on. One idea I particularly like is, for homework, Ss have to take their puppets to a place of their choice then take a photo of it. The next day they have to present their photos, telling the class, where he/she was, what he did and who he/she met etc... The options are endless. I think these are perfect to exercise creative thinking and inject an element of fun in the classroom.
