Are your lectures droning on ? Change it up every 10 minutes with more active teaching techniques and more students will succeed, researchers say. A new study finds that undergraduate students in classes with traditional stand-and-deliver lectures are 1.5 times more likely to fail than students in classes that use more stimulating, so-called active learning methods.

Telltale Games, an independent video game studio, has developed an intense following by prizing nuance and narrative. It is working on a video game version of “Game of Thrones.”

"[...] Telltale had attracted two top hires from the film and television industry — Colum Slevin, the former vice president for studio operations in Lucasfilm’s animation division, and Stephan V. Bugaj, who had spent 12 years in creative roles at Pixar.

“Nobody else in the world is doing this or thinking on this scale,” Mr. Slevin said of his decision to join Telltale. “Everyone is focused on trying to make games look as sophisticated as films, as opposed to trying to make games be as emotionally and narratively resonant as film, which is a whole different challenge.” [...]"
