Just great . Love this post and suggestions and agree with it entirely.
My suggestions: First , tap the intonation on the table without the word and have the class do it chorally until they do it right and then with the words.
- show students how to copy ( and eventually exaggerate the intonation for fun)and practice the rythm of the phrases. Students who don't feel like singing or feel bad about it don't necessarily have to sing. they can "rap" the song.
- the students work with a partner and say one sentence in turn, adressing the other student with gestures and expression. Most students enjoy the non-verbal part as well ... Delete the scoop?
