Those little rectangles full of inclusive images and text have been so successful in web design that they’ve almost become a default option when it comes to balancing clear aesthetics with simple usability. But don’t mistake trendiness for usefulness – there’s a reason cards are so popular.

I read this article with a little bit of suspicion. There is a dissonance sometimes in the world of design that sometimes is just meant to be aimed at adhering to principles over preoccupied by aesthetics. Then, there is the design camp overly preoccupied by user experience and functionality. This article is recommended because, in my opinion, closes the loop and brings designers back to taking into consideration the ultimate design goal of a product. That, my designer friends, gets well overlooked and it is misunderstood and misinterpreted many times.

Any designer worth his/her salt is aware of the RWD wins. By now, they should be aware of the solutions to the challenges that as a collective effort we've been trying to address. We have tackled the performance issue of RWD, and now the testing of RWD comes also to the stage. Great article!

This article spoke to me today because I am in a position where ux leadership is completely necessary. It is certainly easier said than done in certain industries that are so large and so regulated that just getting ideas across the able to advocate for user experience can get lost in the chaos of the mere complexity of the problem that needs to be solved, and the solution that needs to be built or fixed.

This is a topic of interest for a long, long time. It's true, different camps and opinions about it has made me flip back and forth from one camp to another. It depends though, and this article describes the reasons why we should give a lot of consideration to the design cues and the hierarchy of information in a site. Good read. Highly recommended for your sanity and to suggest a specific approach based on the content you're working with.
