Everyone talks about company culture, but most people have it backwards.
Joel Peterson's insight:
The idea of culture is actually a key concept of intrinsic motivation based on sdt's (self determination theory) core concept of relatedness. Other theories on motivation support this a well. however I like this emphasis on a culture of competition, again adding a second element of intrinsic motivation with achievement and mastery. This is a good example of how to create an intrinsically motivating learning environment, meaningful purpose/goals, community-identity and mastery achievement.

From a Game perspective, Junger's article supports the idea of why games are appealing, which is that in a digital age Games build digital communities and bonding between people. Certainly this is not true for all games, or even most virtual communities, but there is a sense that video games at their best create a familial quality and a deep satisfying sense of belonging to something.

Which ones do you like? I want to try echo from list. I have used pinterest, pocket, diigo, scoopit and buffer, flipboard, feedly News republic and diigo.  I am a research so diigo to save and edit web content, flipboard, News republic, feedly as news feeders, scoopit for quick publishing, pocket to save so I don't lose content (love the tagging and layout).  Buffer is for republishing on twitter, facebook etc have not really used it. Pinterest I don't like because if there is no image, pinterest frequently won't work.
