Realment e mucho han escrito, naturalmente en inglés , por eso les digo a mis amigos anglo-sajones que no escribimos en español, sino en castellano, y es por eso que sería interesante como alguna que otra vez hemos comentado con Steve, deberíamos unir nuestras dos culturas, por lo menos en los aspectos de aprendizaje y TIC. [Tesis] Las cibercomunidades de aprendizaje y la formación del profesorado

Si bien las comunidades han existido desde que el hombre lo es, con la presencia y la influencia de las redes telemáticas las oportunidades se multiplican al superarse los límites espacio-temporales. Estos agregados sociales que surgen cuando personas de intereses similares se encuentran en el ciberespacio, ofrecen posibilidades para aprender “con” y “de” otros, a lo largo del continuum entre la educación formal, la no formal y la informal.

In the 2012 Primary Sources Survey conducted by Scholastic and The Gates Foundation, teacher respondents claimed to spend only about 4% of each day collaborating with colleagues, while 44% of teachers surveyed responded that they would like that collaboration time to increase. Traditionally, the teaching profession has been an isolating one—if you’re not spending every minute at school teaching classes, tutoring during your breaks, or covering someone else’s class, then you’re likely spending that time disciplining, administrating testing, or scrambling to the microwave to reheat leftovers during your 15-minute lunch break. In addition, as state and district mandates swing from one end of the pendulum to the other, teachers are so completely overwhelmed with trying to follow all of the rules that they are left with no time to develop themselves and their practices. It’s not uncommon for teachers get to a point where they just want to close their doors and teach the way they know is best for their students.

Periscope is a live video streaming app that Twitter purchased before Periscope launched to the public. That fact alone should make you stand up and take notice about how important a company like Twitter thinks that live streaming video really is in today’s social media landscape.

As such, those of us in education should probably take notice and figure out how we can use this app to our advantage.

The great thing about Periscope is that it integrates directly with your Twitter account.  Your Periscope name is your Twitter handle. Once you download the Periscope app from either iTunes or Google Play, you can set up your account and find some people to follow.

When you curate content the right way, you should never get in trouble with Google or your readers. In fact, it should do just the opposite: improve your search rankings and delight your readers and followers.

One common misconception about content curation is that it’s simply reposting entire pages of other people’s content on your own site. But let me be clear: this is not curation.

So, what is content curation? While there is some variance among definitions, I like how marketing expert Heidi Cohen defines it: “Content curation assembles, selects, categorizes, comments on, and presents the most relevant, highest quality information to meet your audience’s needs on a specific subject.”

In other words, content curation isn’t taking other people’s content and claiming it as your own. It isn’t reposting entire pages of content, word for word, with or without attribution. It isn’t regurgitating info available elsewhere for the benefit of your audience. More detail on how curated content differs from duplicate content.

Content curation is taking the best content available on a topic and adding your own unique voice and perspective to it. It’s sort of a roundup of the “best of the best” content, presented in a way that makes it insanely valuable to the unique needs and interests of your audience.

While it should be an integral part of your content strategy, it’s important to do it appropriately. Following are the 5 tips that will make sure your curated content improves your search rankings and delights your followers and readers.

Elected representatives have been the standard medium that citizens have used to exert their democratic power. But as everything gets connected, complexity will increase, and reaction times decrease. A connected citizenry can be an effective way to re-balance democratic power. But in order to do so, all citizens must make the effort to be connected and take the time to discuss important issues. No person can know everything, but connected people can know more than any individual, elected or appointed. Connecting to others is no longer a luxury, it is essential in order to keep our democracies alive.

Pinterest is the biggest social network for visual content, and that includes infographics. It’s one of my favorite places to browser and discover new infographics. (You can follow us on Pinterest here).

With so much content on Pinterest, how do you make your infographic stand out? What are the characteristics of highly pinned and liked Pinterest infographics? To answer these questions, we looked at over 200 popular Pinterest infographics and manually evaluated them based on a series of qualitative and quantitative characteristics. We looked at a variety of dimensions such as topic, type of infographic, dominant style, expected reaction, number of story points, font, colors used, chart types, the ratio of length to width. Although a few people evaluated the infographics, we did a big normalization process within the team to make sure that all of the infographics were coded consistently on each dimension. To measure the performance of the infographics, we looked at the number of pins and likes. Which is a better indicator? For Pinterest, pins are a far better indicator of success as pinning is a combination of liking and sharing and is the main user action on Pinterest. Based on our research we identified 6 factors for a great Pinterest infographic. You can view the infographic summary and read the details in the writeup that follows below.

In a nutshell, the Internet of Things/Everything (IoT or IoE) utilizes technology to connect almost everything to the internet. This connection allows data from the object to be transmitted over the network without (or minimal) human interaction. The gathered data then can be used to further improve performance and customize the 'object' based on how it is being used.

Last 2013, CISCO, a big proponent of the IoT/E, did a study on the potential contribution of the Internet of Everything on education. If you look at the table on the left (or below), CISCO predicted the potential changes that IoT/E can bring to education by 2017. You can view the full report here.

Peter Drucker acuñó el término trabajador del conocimiento, de nuevo en 1959 como una manera de describir los trabajadores que participaron en la resolución de problemas no rutinarios. Creo que esta es una de las razones por qué las organizaciones-han creído que la formación tiene que ver con los trabajadores del conocimiento “transferencia de conocimiento” – verter conocimiento en la cabeza de la gente, lo que “creemos” que hacemos ahora, pero nada mas lejos de la realidad.

Lo que hacemos verdaderamente es “enviar, transmitir” informaciones y en todo caso los que nos escuchan lo pueden o no convertir en conocimientos y a continuacion en aprendizajes..

El concepto de trabajador del aprendizaje, el término acuñado por Jacob Morgan , autor de “El futuro del trabajo: se trata de individuos de aprendizaje continuo que aprenden para sí mismos y se mantienen al tanto de los avances en su campo de trabajo no sólo a través de meta de auto-estudio en sus redes profesionales y canales sociales demás sino que necesitan nuevas ideas para asegurarse de que siguen creciendo.

According to our In-Focus report, Mobile Learning in the Workplace, mobile learning is definitely on the rise, big time. Our research shows that it really took off in 2013; this was the year that mobile learning became the norm, rather than the exception. And it’s still growing.


Modern learners are pushing the mobile learning agenda, but many employers have taken up the challenge as well, recognizing that the future is mobile and implementing new learning practices. Some are more forward-thinking and mobile-advanced than others, and some are more tuned into how their workforce is learning and wants to learn than others.

If you’ve always wanted to give a TED Talk, dive in! And if the traditional TED Talk style isn’t for you, try something new. Share your ideas

Remember those days in school when you used to cram in whole books the night before the test? Did you remember afterwards even a wee bit of what you gobbled up within the space of a few hours? You didn't because you had to cram in the same chapters again when the next test was around. On the other hand, you still remember the multiplication tables that you learned years ago.

Why do you think you forgot what you learned the night before the test and remember what you learned years ago? It couldn't be that you didn't work hard to learn. No it isn't. The answer is in the way you learned. Crammed or typical learning (learning in a hurry and all at once) does not aid retention. But when learning is both spaced out and repeated, you remember more. As an instructional designer, it is imperative that you know the difference between the two learning methods, so you can design courses that stick.

Students are coming out of school expected to solve 21st-century problems and enter into occupations that haven't even been imagined yet. Schooling is not designed in this manner, so we wanted to give students an opportunity to solve problems in authentic contexts, using 21st-century skills and collaboration techniques. We wanted to break down walls between classrooms and have students use interdisciplinary skills to solve problems with teams of their peers, with mentors, and with industry professionals.

El tiempo nos ha dado la razón al leer este artículo. Cuando hablamos de nuevos formatos socio-tecno-educativos lo hicimos poque así lo han estado indicando las mega-tendencias educativas del milenio. Los StartUps, Bootcamps, MOOCs y Hackathons se convertirán en las nuevas experiencias de aprendizaje de la sociedad. Esto evidencia claramente que el aula tradicional donde se transmiten contenidos didácticos está comenzando a obsoletizarse.

La sociedad del milenio se mueve hacia otro tipo de Educación que NO es la que tenemos actualmente. Equipar las aulas con artilugios tecnológicos (TIC) no es la solución. Mejor es equipar a los estudiantes para que la utilicen a favor del aprendizaje, conocimiento, empoderamiento y participación (TAC-TEP).
