This book has been written and designed primarily with English language teachers in mind though the majority of the resources and tools contained in the book will have much wider use than just language teaching.
WiFi, its existence, the control of it and access to it is of deep concern to children. Analysis shows that children see it as almost elemental, as immutable as the weather, literally part of the landscape. It’s represented as omnipresent, over-arching and essential to human connection and collaboration, with many of the artworks conveying a sense of wonder and amazement at the power and potential of WiFi.
TED talks are great, but there’s a point where they all seem too similar, or are just taxing to muddle through. If you’d still like to enjoy a smart, engaging talk now and again but you’ve had enough of TED, here are some alternative to boost your brain.
Of course, social media alone won’t transform teaching. But we are banking on the hypothesis that connecting teachers to other teachers is an overarching benefit that builds every teacher’s professional and social capital.
More teachers today are providing opportunities for their students to connect and learn in powerful ways. There is an increasing focus on collaboration, competency-based learning, use of open resources, project-based learning, and learning environments are shifting to support these new opportunities. These shifts are accelerated by access to technology that has transformed how we learn and interact with one another.

Students are not the only ones looking for more at-home learning: parents and teachers are also on board. Eighty-eight percent of parents and 84 percent of teachers are interested in having more at-home digital content available to supplement what's being taught in school. The increasingly digital behaviors of students, teachers, and parents are expanding the way learning occurs. Understanding and positioning ahead of that behavioral shift will be critical in helping educational organizations succeed in the digital future.
