Lately, I've been curious about Google+ Hangouts, since I was invited recently to hang out with a well-known author for one hour as she answered questions.

She made herself available to her readers to answer any question they wanted to ask. I thought, "What a unique way to connect with your fans."

And it was.

I didn't actually attend the hangout session, but it was recorded, so I was able to download an MP4 of the entire session, as well as a PDF of the session.

How can you use this for your book promotions? Let me count the ways:

o Meet and greet - Say "hi" to your READERS

o Find out WHO they are

o Award PRIZES while you're live to create excitement!

o FOLLOW UP with each and every person who attended

o Invite them back again when you release a NEW BOOK

I love Pinterest. It brings out the kid in all of us. I wish I could sit there on that site all day long, and find wonderful pictures of food, travel and snappy sayings.

Why is Pinterest so popular?

People are squeezed for time and don't have time to read a bunch of words. They want to learn from pictures, and our ebook covers are perfect for sharing. They should be colorful, bright, enticing; the title should be bold and sum up what our books are all about. Once pinners get the first glimpse of them, they should be repinning and sharing. Make them irresistible.
