La diversité, tour à tour invoquée comme état de nos sociétés ou comme valeur à promouvoir, reste un concept polysémique et complexe. La définition de la diversité renvoie au caractère de ce qui est divers, varié, différent. Or le terme est communément usité pour faire référence à un ensemble de personnes marquées par la singularité de leurs origines géographique, socio-culturelle ou religieuse, de leur âge, leur sexe, leur orientation sexuelle, etc. Mais la diversité est aussi associée à des pratiques hétérogènes et diverses, en somme, à des pratiques plurielles.

A Educomunicação, um conceito ainda pouco conhecido e em formação, visa unir a educação com os meios de comunicação de forma que a própria comunidade possa desenvolver programas de rádios, audiovisuais e blogs.  No entanto, a produção não é direcionada para a mídia. É feita na medida certa para as populações que necessitam de uma determinada mensagem ou intervenção. “Mas para ser eficiente, esses produtos devem conter mensagens que representem os anseios das pessoas daquele lugar. O conteúdo deve ter significado para todo mundo e não só para quem fez o vídeo. As pessoas precisam se ver nesses produtos. Só assim se consegue mudanças numa determinada comunidade ou grupo”, diz Carmen Gattas, mestre em Educomunicação pela USP que dirigiu as atividades do workshop.

These tasks will be necessary for them to partake and grow in today’s media landscape in the following manner : critically, responsibly, creatively, autonomously, and well prepared for life in society1. The sum of competences linked to media usage can be coined with the new term “media literacy”».

OFCOM report: one in three children aged 5-15 in the UK now has their own tablet

"The report shows one in three children aged 5-15 in the UK now has their own tablet computer, which has nearly doubled in a year (34%, up from 19%).

Twice as many children are using a tablet to go online (42% versus 23% in 2013), while, for the first time, the proportion of children accessing the internet on a PC, laptop or netbook decreased (88%, down from 91% in 2013)

A sharp increase in ownership among very young children means more than one in 10 children aged 3-4 now own their own tablet (11%, up from 3% in 2013)."
