Jovens e culturas cívicas: Por entre formas de consumo noticioso e de participação | Educommunication | Scoop.it
Para melhor compreender as dinâmicas que os jovens, muito em particular os portugueses, evidenciam em relação à participação e ao jornalismo – tentando escapar às visões reducionistas que meramente apontam para um afastamento –, lançámo-nos no desafio de melhor perceber os contextos de ação, os seus moldes e os seus propósitos. Estas matérias foram alvo de reflexão através de um estudo de caso longitudinal (2010-2012), realizado com 35 jovens com formas de participação diferenciadas, na intensidade e na diversidade, e com distintas proveniências sociais, culturais e económicas.

O corpus permitiu melhor apreender e compreender contextos específicos e chegar a perfis quanto ao consumo de notícias (inclusive de política) e quanto à participação.

As tipologias apontam para uma realidade complexa, em que são marcantes os fatores familiares, os contextos sociais mais vastos e a vontade individual.

O Prefácio é assinado por Peter Dahlgren, professor emérito da Universidade de Lund, na Suécia, e um dos mais conceituados estudiosos das dinâmicas do jornalismo e das culturas cívicas, muito em especial entre os jovens.

Les adolescents sur Internet : expériences relationnelles et espace d’initiation | Educommunication | Scoop.it
This article aim is to focus on teenagers’ Internet and Web 2.0 usages, especially in order to highlight their behaviours on social networks. Authors take into consideration the JAMES’ study finding (N = 1169) which was conducted in Switzerland in 2012 and display that usages (mostly access to information) are linked to different steps of adolescent’s life. By underlining the key role played by social networks, considered as relational technology tools, the authors also focus on offensive practises which are one of the consequences of the adolescent’s full-immersion into the world of social networks.

We Know Why Teens Aren't Watching TV

Our biggest finding isn’t that teens are flocking to digital platforms for video content; while true, this already has been documented. More important for content creators to understand is why this is happening. The delivery mechanism for the content fits their lifestyles, they relate much more to the content that is there, and the people behind the content have much stronger and authentic relationships with them.

Bringing together popular culture studies and sociocultural learning theory, in this paper we formulate the concept of “connected civics,” grounded in the idea that young people today are engaging in new forms of politics that are profoundly participatory. Often working in collaboration with adult allies, they leverage digital media and emerging modes of connectivity to achieve voice and influence in public spheres. The rise of participatory politics provides new opportunities to support connected civics, which is socially engaged and embedded in young people's personal interests, affinities, and identities.

En las pocas décadas que la humanidad lleva inmersa en la era digital ha creado datos como para llenar la memoria de tantos iPad que, apilados, casi llegarían a la Luna. El ritmo de creación de información es tal que, según un estudio de la corporación EMC y la consultora IDC, se dobla cada dos años. Para antes de que acabe la década, habrá 44 zettabytes de datos (un ZB es igual a un billón de gigabytes) y el montón de tabletas habrá ido y vuelto al satélite más de tres veces. Lo paradójico es que buena parte de esa información se perderá para las generaciones futuras.

You will notice immediately if you have an awareness of the STEM acronym (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) that, like others, I am inserting the usual, additional letter in there (A for Arts – as recognised in the US, for example by this campaigning site), together with a less usual, silent second M (for Media) at the end.   The reason for the silence is that it is almost totally absent from the formal school curriculum in this country. The reason for its presence in STEAM(M) is that it is always present anyway, regardless of the particular predilections of the authors of the curriculum or their masters, the politicians who decide what it is included or excluded from study here.

"Les travaux communs des membres de l’Observatoire des pratiques de presse lycéenne permettent de dresser régulièrement des constats quant aux conditions d’exercice de la liberté d’expression des journalistes lycéens.

Pour confronter ces points de vue à la réalité du terrain, et à l’occasion du 20ème anniversaire du droit de publication lycéen, l’Observatoire a décidé d’engager une consultation auprès des 240 rédactions lycéennes identifiées dans le cadre du « dépôt pédagogique » de ces publications, géré par le CLEMI.

Les données collectées permettent d’actualiser les résultats de l’enquête précédente de l'Observatoire, réalisée en 2007.

A l’issue de l'analyse des résultats, les membres de l’Observatoire ont adopté quelques recommandations destinées à améliorer le cadre d’existence des journaux lycéens."

"A história recente da rádio em Portugal está praticamente por fazer. Mais de 25 anos sobre a publicação da Lei da Rádio, em 1988, e do processo de atribuição das frequências locais, em 1989, é tempo de olhar em perspetiva para o setor das rádios locais. É indiscutível o papel destas emissoras na vida das suas comunidades, unidas pelo conceito de proximidade que vai além-fronteiras. No seu conjunto são ainda um espaço de expressão sonora multifacetado onde se reconhecem linguagens e sotaques próprios, a informação local, a música popular e regional, as vozes conhecidas de quem ali vive ou emigrou e que encontra na rádio um lugar de (re) encontros e afetos. A rádio local assume aqui uma das suas funções primordiais, a função social, a de ser o elo aglutinador de uma comunidade que usa a rádio como meio para comunicar entre si – não raras vezes a única oportunidade no seu dia para falar com outra voz e ser escutado."

Manuel Pinto's insight:

Um trabalho que muito provavelmente ficará a constituir um marco nos estudos radiofónicos em Portugal. Inclui entrevistas com nove personalidades que estiveram envolvidos direta ou indiretamente na emergência do fenómeno das rádios piratas e no desenvolvimento da radiodifusão local.

Este trabajo de investigación pretende abordar la relación entre los adolescentes y la competencia mediática desde el punto de vista de la publicidad y su factor emocional. La mayor parte de las decisiones que tomamos se gestan en nuestro inconsciente y nuestra mente se mueve por emociones. La publicidad televisiva incide básicamente en estos dos elementos y por eso es fundamental formar a los adolescentes en competencia emocional publicitaria, para así fomentar en ellos una autonomía emocional y una capacidad crítica y analítica de los mensajes publicitarios. El objetivo final de este trabajo de investigación es diseñar un proceso metodológico práctico que permita, en primer lugar, descubrir el grado de competencia emocional publicitaria que tienen los adolescentes de 4º de ESO de la ciudad de Lleida, y en segundo lugar, averiguar cómo evolucionan y si se modifican estas habilidades analíticas y críticas con la aplicación de un programa de competencia emocional en publicidad. El resultado del trabajo de investigación es una metodología basada en una estrategia explicativa secuencial compuesta por cuatro fases metodológicas.

A educomunicação, ante os estudos contemporâneos, deverá ser caracterizada pela abordagem sistêmica das relações entre os recursos da comunicação e as atividades humanas, identificando a natureza da interatividade propiciada pelos novos instrumentos da comunicação e democratizando o acesso às tecnologias, desmistificando-as e colocando-as em prática não somente no ambiente acadêmico, mas em prol de toda a sociedade. Deve ser vista, antes de tudo, como a possibilidade de novas perspectivas, de algo que será construído por meio de uma fundamentação, porém apto a ser questionado, criado, respeitando o princípio do coletivo em discussões e debates, mas não abrindo mão do individualismo de pensamentos e decisões, agindo como campo de integração, interdiscursivo, participativo e com olhar crítico.

Le 26 février sera désormais une date anniversaire majeure dans l’histoire d’Internet. Le régulateur des communications américain, la FCC, a en effet consacré jeudi, après une bonne décennie de débats aussi houleux que passionnés, le principe de « neutralité du net ».

Il sera désormais interdit de bloquer ou ralentir des contenus ou des services, mais aussi d’offrir une qualité de trafic supérieure contre rémunération. Cerise sur le gâteau, ces règles devraient s’appliquer aussi aux réseaux mobiles.
