Why Your Teaching Style Might Be A Bad Match For Your Students

Why Your Teaching Style Might Be A Bad Match For Your Students | Educational Technology News | Scoop.it

"The relationship between you and your students is complex and dynamic. No matter what grade level you teach, at any moment you could be clarifying content, reinforcing a classroom process, modeling curiosity, or giving a pep talk. This kind of constant change is second-nature to most educators; urgent, persistent, and intense shifting of roles is not only common in K-20 classrooms, but is likely proof that you’re doing something right. Sometimes, however, in spite of all that you try, for about 1/3 of the class you just can’t produce the learning results you’re looking for and they deserve. All the literacy strategies and pep talks and second chances continue to produce the same mediocre results."

EDTECH@UTRGV's insight:

I wonder how teaching style impacts e-learning.

I really think that it is fundamental to create innovative activities in order to make the students part of the classes proposing them activities in which they can express their opinions and preferences related to the class, as for example in the topics that they would like to include and in the evaluation form. The creation of infographics is an amazing idea to present formal information to the students in a didactic and flashy way.

What does a flipped classroom look like at each grade level? | Educational Technology News | Scoop.it

"Although the term “flipped learning” is almost universally recognized, teachers apply it in many forms, in all grades levels, and in various school environments. If you are a teacher using flipped learning, the chances are that you share some similarities with other teachers who flip—as well as some differences. However, the major commonality among all flipped learning teachers is that every one of them is creating personal learning experiences for each student."
