Six [totally awesome] Web Presentation Tools for Teachers at a Glance

Six [totally awesome] Web Presentation Tools for Teachers at a Glance | Educational Technology in the Library | Scoop.it

Below, you will find a link to a table I’ve made that puts information about these sources into an “at a glance” format. You’ll be able to easily reference what the tool is, what it does, and how it could be used in the classroom. You will also get access to links for the actual websites so that you can sign up and start creating! Before you do that, though, I’ve also got links to some examples on the final page for your perusal. (Keep in mind that these are just samples, not Pulitzer or Golden Apple material.) It is my hope that my own hours of time narrowing the field of free web tools will help others in their teaching, and help some new surfers to get up on that wave. Try to learn and implement one new thing this year… even that is a huge accomplishment. Come on in, the water’s fine! At the live session, you even get me to come around, assist you, and personally answer your questions about how these contraptions work…

May I also add Present.Me that allows you to attach a video of yourself presenting to your powerpoint presentation. I use it to send to my class when I cannot be there for their lessons. Genuis.
Baiba Svenca's comment, August 3, 2012 9:01 AM
I agree Charlotte! Present.me is awesome, I use it too. And Prezi, and many more tools.... But that was the author's choice. I like the annotations and tips very much!

Electric Slide - deliver PowerPoint, documents and videos to any screen

Electric Slide - deliver PowerPoint, documents and videos to any screen | Educational Technology in the Library | Scoop.it

Electric Slide is the easiest way to wirelessly present PowerPoint slides, Office documents, PDFs and videos with your iPhone or iPad. Your device is a remote control that works anywhere with any screen. Since viewers just need your simple URL to follow along, setup is a cinch. You can also connect your device directly to a TV or projector via HDMI or VGA.

the pricing for more than one co-user I need to think about
Karen Dietz's comment, March 1, 2013 9:57 AM
I agree Jacq! For some, the pricing won't be an issue. For sole proprietors, it could be something to carefully consider.
Cori Zuppo's curator insight, May 28, 2013 7:27 PM

Absolutely cool. Now, how to make it work in a classroom with a diverse student population who perhaps cannot afford iThings...and the classroom PCs are not wireless...hmmm...

Great case study! I would also like to apply more of Evernote in my classroom and was plannign to get started next year...it is so tempting to give it a try allready, but my experience tells me to make sure I am a bit in controll.

Linda Dougherty's curator insight, October 12, 2013 7:14 AM

Have started showing students during Google presentation tutorials how to outline their presentations like they always do with those bulleted lines on the slides.  Then take those sentences, change them into titles, and put one title on each slide. Select one image per slide. If needed, add URL links. Add the works cited for the image in tiny print at the bottom of the slide. Move those outlined bulleted points to the note section or toss into a document to print out for a group presenetation.

No more slides crowded with text and 4 images! No more students sleeping in the classroom while their classmates read from the Smartboard.

Susan Kay Daniels's curator insight, January 13, 6:30 AM

This is a PowerPoint presentation that would have sent my former employers into shock. They had no imagination whatsoever. However, Eugene Cheng clearly has wonderful artistic skills and knows how to present them. In addition, he clearly has a nice budget to work with. These kind of beautiful graphics don't come at low price. I thoroughly enjoyed glancing through this presentation and plan to use it as inspiration for future projects.

Warmly,

Susan Daniels
