Educational Technology Buzzwords

Educational Technology Buzzwords | educational technology for teachers | Scoop.it

Education buzzwords have for a long time driven me insane as we spend our lives in schools latching on to phrase after phrase that tries to make us sound more knowledgeable without actually being more knowledgeable. I fear sometimes us “tech geeks” in schools ( definitely me included) are getting caught in the same trap as we move from one innovation to the next just to look more tech savvy than the next guy. Learning with 'e's: Shock of the new

Learning with 'e's: Shock of the new | educational technology for teachers | Scoop.it

The Virtual Eye Dissection and Eye Anatomy is exactly what it says. The site allows you to review the anatomy of the eye, view photos from an actual eye dissection, and then perform a virtual dissection of the eye.

6 Ways Digital Learning is Changing Teaching

6 Ways Digital Learning is Changing Teaching | educational technology for teachers | Scoop.it

As someone who has, within the last decade, been a student and a teacher, as well as administrative support, I was very interested by the parts in your book when you made it clear that educational institutions are evolving. This means, to me, that those traditional roles of student, teacher, and administrator will reflect significant changes. In making the case for the needs of the new generation, your book focuses more on how students are changing as learners but also in their roles within schools. However, I wonder if you can expound on your perspective about teachers assuming the role of a guide.

Digital learning is driving 6 shifts in teaching; it’s becoming more model-specific, team-based, differentiated, interactive, data-driven. and occasionally it is conducted remotely.

Jose Popoff: Technology in the Classroom is a Disaster waiting to Happen! | educational technology for teachers | Scoop.it

Rings a bell? You know you've been there. I remember back in the days, when a Power Point presentation, a white screen, a huge CPU and a projector were the coolest thing around, I had this practicum doctor as a Biology teacher who ran into a tech problem and would simply cancel the session for that day. Well, so much for significant learning...
