How Can We Connect Teachers to Connected Learning? ~ Digital Is

How Can We Connect Teachers to Connected Learning? ~ Digital Is | Educational Technology | Scoop.it

by David Quinn

"I realized that if teachers were to get on board, I’d have to make it concrete. I had another attempt to share Connected Learning with Rhode Island teachers at the Highlander Institute’s Blended Learning Conference. I reached out to Christina Cantrill for permission to use an example from Teaching in the Connected Learning Classroom and she was kind enough to oblige. The first example was Larissa Pahomov’s 2Fer project where students wrote two-page position papers that were peer reviewed in Google Docs and then shared publicly on a website."

Creating An iPad Workflow For Teachers, Students, And Parents - TeachThought

Creating An iPad Workflow For Teachers, Students, And Parents - TeachThought | Educational Technology | Scoop.it

"Using tablets in the classroom–whether iPads, Androids, or surging Windows devices–is largely a matter of workflow.

If you can forgive a mixed metaphor, the traditional classroom sees the teacher as the both the director and the bottleneck of all productivity. They create assignments, assess proficiency, respond to assessment data, and refine planned instruction in light of constantly changing circumstances.

This is challenging in any context, but in 1:1 and mobile learning environments, it’s even more complex. With tablets, every student has both an information portal and a digital printing press. This means they can reach both communities and potential collaborators.

The above graphic from @ipadwells addresses this issue with a helpful graphic that visualizes a workflow, while offering up representative apps for each step of the process."

People do your research into 'COMMON CORE STATE STANDARDS " From what I have read about it stand up and say know ! To me is like China, Former Soviet Union and what Hitler had incorporated in schools ! We need good old fashion education it can be high tech sure . But the art of teaching and exciting young minds to learn are being taken over by Government make no mistake it is the core beliefs they want taught and will punish a school and teacher if not implemented . I do not know which is worse "NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND" or this to make sure they all march in straight line ! <3

Create, Publish, Promote: An iPad Workflow For Learning - Te@chThought

Create, Publish, Promote: An iPad Workflow For Learning - Te@chThought | Educational Technology | Scoop.it

"Workflow is as much about inspiration and elegance as it is function and efficiency.

Ideally a workflow for learning would promote curiosity and ambition as much as it supports students in accomplishing goals, turning in work, and other procedural events. Any workflow should also be aligned with the tools of the trade–in this case the hardware and software of an iPad.

That’s where Create, Publish, Promote comes in–three words that clarify a basic sequence that can realize the potential of mobile technology."

Dorothy Retha Cook's curator insight, December 11, 2015 5:10 AM

There is a difference in learning and sharing, we can share some things we are not able to learn. As slaves couldn't read words but they taught the ways of their lives required to be lived instead! As grandma would say having all the book sense with no good common sense don't amount to nothing. Knowing how go read a book about how to change a light bulb but having no good common sense on how to perform it makes you a person with plenty of book sense sitting on the dark at night because you don't have the good common sense on how to do what the book said. Grandma and them had a way about telling the truth as it was said if you don't want to know the truth Grandma and them style don't ask them! Learning comes in different ways not all work the same! Don't judge another because they learn differently but always remember

what doesn't work for you just might work fine for another!

Wonderful Visual on SAMR As A Framework for Education 3.0 ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning

Wonderful Visual on SAMR As A Framework for Education 3.0 ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | Educational Technology | Scoop.it

"Proponents of the sociolinguistic perspective to the study of literacy ( e.g.Paul Gee, Collin Lanksheare, Michelle Knobel, Brian Street, to mention but a few ) view the developments of literacy and with it education as a direct result to the sophistication of the social and cultural aspect of human life. Some of them like Collin and Michelle associate the evolution of education to that of the web and hence the nomenclature education 1.0 (related web 1.0), education 2.0 ( related to web 2.0), and education (3.0 related to web 3.0). This association, however is not haphazard for there are many commonalities between each pair."
