What Do You Want Kids to Do with Technology?

What Do You Want Kids to Do with Technology? | Educational Technology | Scoop.it

Wrong Answers: make Prezis, start blogs, create Wordles, publish Animotos, design flipcharts, produce videos, post to Edmodo, use whiteboard, develop apps

Right Answers: raise awareness, start conversations, find answers (to THEIR questions), join partners, change minds, make a difference, take action, drive change

This post was short but to the point.  Technology should be one of the subjects kids learn in school, it should be used to help kids develop ideas.  Teachers should use technology to keep lessons interesting so kids don't fall asleep or become uninteresting.

Video. Young Adults’ Job Skills and the Modern Workplace

Video. Young Adults’ Job Skills and the Modern Workplace | Educational Technology | Scoop.it

Anthony Carnevale talks in this video about the recent OECD study on literacy and basic math skills among adults 16-25 in 23 countries, and he responded to telephone calls and electronic communications. According to the results, U.S. workers are falling behind other developed countries in skills that are needed in the modern workplace. Mr. Carnavale said that while in the past generally only upper management needed critical thinking, problem-solving, and other higher level skills, the modern economy requires these skills from most workers.
