Chuck Devers's insight:

The road is tough in getting your new charter school launched, especially when the public school district doesn't want it to happen.  We have seen this and successfully fought the battle to open new charter schools all over Florida.  That has included going to Tallahassee and the Charter School Review Board as necessary to help our Charter School get their Charter.  If you need help, we may be able to do that for you.  (314) 221-7000 may be your answer.

Our View: Better oversight needed for state's charter schools

Is the $1 billion the state distributes every year to charter schools being properly spent? Unfortunately, no one can really answer that.
Chuck Devers's insight:

Experienced accounting and fund accounting is crucial towards keeping your charter school in full compliance and off the list of those that get audited especially deeply by State Departments of Education.

Its hard enough to operate on a daily basis, don't take on the additional burden of outside oversight because of sloppy accounting and fund management practices.

Call us if we can be of service in helping fund your charter school.  Chuck

Here's what I like about this article by Nick Morgan -- it focuses on specific ways to engage the audience when you give a presentation.

Yeah! It's rare to find an article that mentions both storytelling (tip #1) and how to bring your audience into your talk.

All the advice shared here is right on. Go ahead and play with these and notice the difference they make!

Andrew Earnshaw's curator insight, August 30, 2013 2:29 AM

So many small businesses need financial and intellectual investment to maximise their potential. But many go 'half-cocked' holding out their hands with insufficient supporting evidence of future success.

Chuck Devers's insight:

Our firm works with both Charter Schools and Churches - often, they are related in terms of sharing facilities and even, in some cases, personnel.  Its a brave new world in terms of "who owes what and who owns what" when at the intersection of church and public governmental units (i.e, school districts).  Love to help you if we can, we have seen so many variants of this approach that we have a very good understanding of the pitfalls, benefits, and daily "real life" practicalities of each approach.  Call if you need some help.  Chuck

Are You a News Aggregator or a Content Curator?

Are You a News Aggregator or a Content Curator? | Educational News Worth Reading | Scoop.it

A few weeks ago I read an interesting article by Barry Feldman about whether content curation is news or noise. He made some good points. As he notes, “In the end, the acid test is to ascertain whether or not people like what you’re doing.”

Via Guillaume Decugis
Chuck Devers's insight:

The one thing common to every human on the earth is this - TIME.  No matter how rich, powerful, beautiful, or intelligent every single human has the same 24 hours in a day- no more, no less.

Content curation can be a blessing to time-challenged people, who have many eyes sifting for content relevant to their own as well as their fellow professionals - so curation can benefit many by, in effect, giving us all "more time" to see those salient and important topics that help us grow.

You can be a part of this process, as well, through content curation.

See how it works!
