MIT Researchers Give The Robot Bee a Major Upgrade

MIT Researchers Give The Robot Bee a Major Upgrade | Education Technology | Scoop.it
A collaboration of reseachers between MIT and Harvard University have found a way to mimic the way insects perch and incorporated it into the Robobee's abilities. But instead of perching the way real insects do, the robobee uses a small electrode patch and shock-absorbing foam mount to enable the tiny robot to latch on to surfaces upside down, allowing it to significantly conserve energy and extend its operational life.

How students in Uruguayan schools are being taught English over the Internet

How students in Uruguayan schools are being taught English over the Internet | Education Technology | Scoop.it
In Uruguay, it was recognized that the gap between the abilities and capacities of many teachers to teach English, and student needs to learn English (which became compulsory in 2008) was so huge in many parts of the country that they needed to do things differently than they had done in the past. Instead of having teachers learn English separately, might it be possible to have them learn alongside their students, in their own classrooms?
