One of Ken Robinson's best recent efforts. Witty, concise and accurate! The great 'wrestle' for those of us in schools is how to make this occur. How do we build structures that support great teaching and learning, rather than great teaching and learning trying to flourish in spite of structures and systems. Thanks Karen Rockhold.

‘Traditional’ (here) means centrally dictated, curriculum based teaching.“Contemporary” (here) means teacher driven, student-centric teaching.Traditional teaching focuses on short term recall, and is highly focused on measurability.Contemporary teaching focuses on students taking ownership of their learning and using real, useful materials.

One of the best articles I've read lately.
"People have great intentions. They just don't have vision." Isn't this how people treat LIFE, as well? They hop on the train and keep going. No stopping. No reflecting. Lots of lemmings with empty smiles on the way to the end. Expecting something big when in fact, the train just stops.
What is our purpose? As leaders, we should be the best problem solvers and finders there are. This IS what we want our kids to be; our teachers to be. Our schools to support. We can't lead if we live in yesterday or hope for a better tomorrow without DOING something to make it happen.
"The important thing is to not stop questioning", Einstein said. When we stop questioning, we cease to grow. Stagnation scares the heck out of me more than death does. Delete the scoop?

These are eight great headings by which to reflect upon your interaction with anyone! The development of students will be better with these approaches but your interactions with other adults will also be enhanced!
