"As a literacy teacher, I have found the process of teaching with the Common Core State Standards a worthy endeavor. I think my students are supported as they are challenged through the Common Core, and they are exposed to a process for dissecting complex texts that will be useful as they enter college and the adult world."

Here is another look behind the scenes at the common core push. While some ideas in common core are helpful and good they are not new to good or great teachers.

The focus of common core is more of the testing threat for motivation than a learning challenge and all that testing is expensive in both time and money, that is the main issue with common core. The money and time could be better spent on other aspects of the school, teaching and ;learning. For instance teachers at many schools cannot even attend professional conferences that help motivate and encourage and offer hands on opportunities to professional teachers the way films try to do virtually….The money for state examines will over ride any other cost, even school maintenance, replacing teachers that retire or leave and professional conferences.
