The flipped classroom is a pedagogical model in which the typical lecture and homework elements of a course are reversed. It seems to be revolutionizing education in USA. But how about Europe? Some teachers are a bit baffled by the concept of a flipped classroom: it looks like more work (making videos) with little benefits. And this is true: In many European countries, teachers are already more or less following the flip approach, so starting to create lecture videos seems a bit superfluous. In this webinar we'll discuss the core principles of a flipped classroom and different ways in which it might practically be achieved, from a European perspective. The webinar is led by researcher Tarmo Toikkanen from Aalto university in Finland. Participants are welcome to tell about their own experiences, share tips and debate.
