Teaching is a vocation that gives each teacher voice through their actions and speech. When it becomes work and labor, a teacher's voice is diminished and even silenced.

A challenge for young teachers might be a lack of support and only receiving part-time contracts. The former challenge leads to them having to put in long hours at school. The second may lead to needing a second job to live on. Whatever the reasons are, a lack of educational leadership is at the heart of it.
