An iPad can be a teacher’s very handy assistant! Last year I published an infographic titled "iPad as the Teacher’s Pet” and I have updated it to version 2.0. It’s all about what can be done by Pad-using educators, whether or not their students have iPads. It is divided into seven sections:

Google Drive provides many great options for easy access to administrative tasks on a mobile device. Edgalaxy provides a basic printable guide to using Google Drive on your computer (not the app) as a great starting point with its use.

Hello Zoe, I love your blog. I am a primary school teacher in Spain, we also experience Minecraft Edu http://ticjm.blogspot.com.es/2013/02/minecraft-edu.html .
I would love you to join my Edmodo group "minecraft create and discover" The idea of the group is the following:

I am José Manuel Sáez, primary school teacher in Spain. In this photo you can see me and some of my pupils. I hope we can share experiences and ideas with minecraft. All the students can upload the screenshot or photo of their houses or maybe breakthroughs in minecraft. The idea is sharing and writing. My students will present themselves here; I hope you do the same so we know something about you. Greetings from Spain.

This is my e-mail joshhe1977@yahoo.es write me and I will give you the Edmodo code and make you co-teacher. I hope we could try this. Kind regards

How To Be A Digital Leader

How To Be A Digital Leader | Education | Scoop.it
Unless you were born in the 1990s, you are most likely a digital immigrant -  someone whose ability to use a smartphone, tablet and interact via social media networks does not come as naturally as it does for digital natives.

Maria Persson's curator insight, August 26, 2013 12:33 AM

Not sure about the whole 'native versus immigrant'...#Prensky's idea, upon reading his book, does not lead me to believe in the term 'native' as so many seem to misconstrue this term (a tad out of whack).  I'm not young and my adult daughter says that it's like I've been born with tech literacy and she wasn't?! I think it is about openmindedness, resourcefulness, inquisitiveness, creativity and more...I argue that you don't need to be born in the 1990's to be a digital native! I wasn't!

I think if departments reviewed their faculty, it would become clear to them which teachers should *not* be forced into using technology in the classroom.  Questionably, if those teachers cannot teach the assigned material any longer, they may be driven to learn it in order to keep their jobs, but honestly, if teachers don't possess these traits in today's world, the only thing they should probably be driven to is a different job....
