Kindergarten Green Screen Animal Interviews - Expect the Miraculous

Kindergarten Green Screen Animal Interviews - Expect the Miraculous | Education | Scoop.it
Ms. Kelly’s Kindergarten class has been hard at work on an animal research project that is unlike any other I’ve been a part of.  For the culmination of the project, students recorded an interview of an animal in its habitat using our green screen and the Do Ink app.  There were many layers to the process that students went through the create their final product. The class has been to the library throughout the project to initiate various pieces and then moved forward with the project work in class.

Its just awesome what we can get kindergarden kids to do. Hats off to the teacher for her energy in pushing this through and breaking the stages up to make them achievable for the students.

Classroom Flipping: Jump Over The Hurdles | EdTechReview™

Classroom Flipping: Jump Over The Hurdles | EdTechReview™ | Education | Scoop.it

When technology boomed inside the territories of the global hemisphere, all aspects of human life were vastly affected. Especially, the educational sector brought in huge wonders. Students were shoved off the heavy burden of following the same boring conventional educational methods.

“Classroom flipping” was a hit, resulting in wide smiles on the murky faces of students and revival of new spirit of teaching in teachers.

To begin with, classroom flipping requires that you reach to every student effectively. Listen to their queries, do on-the-spot mentoring and get them to pursue the rest of the class activities with enthusiasm. This process is successful only when instructions are moved from group learning space to individual learning space. Now what the hurdle here could be:

Our preferences are irrelevant. Our students' preferences and needs are supremely relevant.

Mary Starry's curator insight, October 23, 2013 11:39 PM

Great article that reminds us "flipped classrooms" should not just be putting a lecture into a video for students to passively watch.  We need to develop student interaction with resources and tools as part of the out of class time and then develop active learning in the classroom that incorporates creativity, analysis and evaluation.

Advances in information technology have revolutionized how people communicate and learn. The best education technologies enable teachers to do more with fewer resources.Teacher-empowering technologies include mobile apps that grade written student work and provide lesson plan databases.

I believe that technology should be available to students to use in class for learning. They should only be allowed to use them for learning and educational purposes.
