Praise is still part of a student-centered classroom. But how one praises can make a huge difference: Carol Dweck suggests emphasizing the process of learning and the fun in challenging situations. In contrast, highlighting achievement is like feeding children junk food--they seem to want to hear it but it's bad for them in the long run.
