Launching Scoop.it for Google+: authorship and posting to Google+ Company pages

Launching Scoop.it for Google+: authorship and posting to Google+ Company pages | Education | Scoop.it

While some debate whether Google+ is a ghost town or not, the search giant's social network quietly passed the 1 Billion user mark. That's right: 1 Billion people have a Google+ account which is 2x Twitter's user base and only 15% less than Facebook's. Perhaps more importantly, the +1 button is pressed more than 5 million times a day and 340 million of its users are active.

Scoopiteers didn’t need to wait for those metrics to be public to demand that we add Google+ to the Scoop.it’s sharing options: as our platform is a hub to discover, curate and share content to feed your online channels, it’s natural to offer as many distribution options as possible. So today, after integrating  with Facebook profiles and pages, LinkedIn profiles, groups and pages, Twitter and many other social platform such as Wordpress or Tumblr, we’re excited to launch our integration with Google+ with 2 new features:

- Adding Google+ Company pages as a sharing option to Scoop.it

- Adding Google+ authorship to your Scoop.it profile

A lot of people ask me how they could become instructional designers. Here’s some advice from my perspective, followed by links for other perspectives. All of this applies to instructional design in the business world, not academia or K-12 education. It’s probably most applicable to people in the US.

36 Core Teacher Apps For Inquiry Learning With iPads - TeachThought

36 Core Teacher Apps For Inquiry Learning With iPads - TeachThought | Education | Scoop.it

"The interest in inquiry-based learning seems to ebb and flow based on–well, it’s not clear why it ever ebbs.

In short, it is a student-centered, Constructivist approach to learning that requires critical thinking, and benefits from technology, collaboration, resourcefulness, and other modern learning skills that never seem to fall out of favor themselves.

Regardless, St Oliver Plunkett Primary School has put together two very useful images that can help you populate your iPad–or classroom of iPads–with apps that support both inquiry-based learning (the second image below), and a more general approach to pedagogy based on Apple’s uber-popular tablet (the top image)."

The iPad cut the cord tying it to the PC, meaning you no longer need a PC to setup your iPad. You can also back up your iPad via iCloud.

And for some, this means the iPad can effectively replace their laptop or desktop PC. But the iPad isn't for everyone, and depending on how you use your laptop, you may find that the iPad can't quite replace it yet.

NMC Horizon Report > 2014 Higher Education Preview

NMC Horizon Report > 2014 Higher Education Preview | Education | Scoop.it

There is an overarching sense in the academic world that research is first, while teaching is an obligation that must be performed. Because of this way of thinking, efforts to implement effective pedagogies are lacking. Adjunct professors and students feel the brunt of this challenge, as teaching-only contracts are underrated and underpaid, and learners must accept the outdated teaching styles of the university’s primary researchers.

Slideideia permite ainda importar (e melhorar) apresentações Powerpoint e ficheiros Pdf.

Não chega? Muito bem: com Slideideia pode ainda gravar as suas falas durante a apresentação. Excelente!
