Many educators are doing Education 1.0; talking about doing Education 2.0; when they should be planning and implementing Education 3.0. This post compares the developments of the Internet-Web to those of education. The Internet has become an integral thread of the tapestries of most societies throughout the globe. The web influences people’s way of thinking, doing and being; and people influence the development and content of the web.
Visual recording is similar to audio recording: they both use the same concept that is : recording. One uses voice and the other uses visual cues like diagrams, charts, lines, arrows...etc. Think about visual recording as visual mind mapping.

Great case study! I would also like to apply more of Evernote in my classroom and was plannign to get started next year...it is so tempting to give it a try allready, but my experience tells me to make sure I am a bit in controll.

Geo-literacy extends far beyond knowing where places are on a map. National Geographic Education has put an emphasis on geoliteracy, which entails spatial thinking skills and understanding systems in addition to content knowledge about locations and places.
Infographics are interesting–a mash of (hopefully) easily-consumed visuals (so, symbols, shapes, and images) and added relevant character-based data (so, numbers, words, and brief sentences).
The learning application for them is clear, with many academic standards–including the Common Core standards–requiring teachers to use a variety of media forms, charts, and other data for both information reading as well as general fluency...

Is this because most teachers still apply old school methodology and this no longer matches the current state of affaires. If Kurzweils Singularity is immenent( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technological_singularity ) then not only teachers will feel the discrepancy betweeen their training/job and societies struggles with exponential technological development. Most teachers/school don't prepare students for jobs that have not been invented yet...
