College students have a lot to worry about they’ve got school, maybe a job and financial obligations. So why should they be worrying about something like credit cards and debt? Recently the worry amongst parents isn’t that their child isn’t eating or doing well, but are they managing their credit wisely enough to where it doesn’t hurt them in the long run. I think that everyone, student or not, should be able to decide whether they own a credit card or not. Being responsible is part of growing up; being able to decide how they manage their credit is a big responsibility one that everyone should learn. Acts by the government like the CARD Act have increasingly helped young people and students stop being reeled in by credit card companies and start thinking wisely for themselves.
