Better Teaching: Why You Bore Students & What You Can Do About It

Better Teaching: Why You Bore Students & What You Can Do About It
Marie Ricketts's insight:

This article has some really great ideas at how teachers can keep children switched on to learning. My personal favorite is the concept of asking students to make their own predictions, acknowledging their effort, but then waiting to let the lesson speak for itself. I like this because I think it's a great to encourage students to challenge their own perceptions and be able to adjust thier own ways of thinking when evidence presents itself. Like the article states, it's a good technique to help keep them interested and curious at the same time also. It was neat see that "the brain actually learns based on a system of predictions and feedback."

Are there any other interesting or encouraging tips you find especially helpful in this article?
