BYOD is becoming more and more popular. Please don't confuse students using this just to text and play games. If you teach students that technology such as this is a tool for education and show them how to use it, they will.

We all need some down time, on the one hand, and many of us need to stretch our brains, on the other hand. Smart phones with appropriate apps can be used for polling, note sharing, quizzes... try one app first as part of your class time. Delete the scoop?
