Todo cambia muy deprisa en esta sociedad que vivimos… solo hay que ver los grandes cambios tecnológicos acontecidos en los últimos 10 años. Las organizaciones no tienen que quedarse atrás lamiéndosen las heridas, sino que tienen que dar el paso hacia lo digital y adaptarse a las nuevas necesidades que el mercado o sus usuarios les requieren. Y ahí es donde juega un papel principal los profesionales de esta nueva Era y que deben contar con una serie de competencias digitales para llevar el éxito a su organización.

 

Desde RocaSalvatella proponen una serie de competencias digitales que todo profesional debe tener para afrontar el proceso de transformación digital. Dichas competencias digitales están recogidas en un excelente documento (y que transcribo a continuación) que busca llevar a las personas hacia el éxito profesional dentro de sus organizaciones y que explica como tiene que ser capaces (tanto los profesionales como las organizaciones) de ver esta transformación como una oportunidad de adaptación, aprendizaje, reaprendizaje, evolución y avance.

As we continue to look at teachers, students, and learning becoming more “innovative”, it is important that leadership changes. As administrators often set the tone for their district or their building, if they are saying the same, it is not likely that things are going to change in the classroom. Leadership needs to not only “think” different, but they need to “act” different.

For leaders to be effective in changing a school or an organization, they need to change themselves first. It is way too easy to go a leadership conference and get ideas of things that you are going to do with your staff. What is important is changing your own practice first. So along the lines of what is happening within “pockets” of classrooms around the world, leaders must embody the characteristics that they seek. As my good friend Jimmy Casas says, “what we model is what we get.”

So with that being said, here are some of the characteristics that I have seen in some of the most innovative leaders that I have encountered.

This is the first post in a series of eleven which will examine how to motivate the virtual learner.

This is also the second post in a series of six which examines how to enable virtual learners. The first post introduces the series.. 

We all understand how to learn in a traditional classroom environment. We've been doing that for most of our lives. It's comfortable and we know what to expect.

The virtual classroom has introduced a new learning culture - one that takes time to become familiar with. Organizations spend a lot of time planning for, and investing in, technologies - but often forget about the culture change involved with this new learning environment.

In order for virtual learning to be successful, we need to create environments in which people can effectively learn. Our participants need to be open to learning in this new way, and confident that their time in the virtual classroom is well-spent.

 

It's time to take a detailed look at motivating virtual learners to actually learn.

Over the next several weeks we will be taking a close look at what motivates the virtual learner. As you review the tips we will be presenting, you'll see that motivation often comes down to answering the question, "What's in it for me?" The latest technologies and best designs won't mean a thing if you can't answer that question for your participants.

 

So how do we motivate our virtual learners? So glad you asked!

These 101 tips presented over 10 posts should help answer that question and provide valuable ideas to keep in mind when designing your courses and interacting with participants.

 

We'll be exploring tips in these categories:

1. Publish requirements and set expectations ahead of time.2. Establish relevance for the virtual learner.3. Provide continuous encouragement throughout the entire virtual experience.4. Assess learning.5. Provide organizational support for the virtual learning process.6. Implement an internal marketing plan to encourage adoption.7. Establish, and enforce, a management mandate.8. Provide rewards and recognition for virtual learning participation and success. 9. Publish success stories.10. Design for virtual learner success.

El equipo de Google ha anunciando una nueva herramienta dentro de Google Apps for Education: Classroom.

El anuncio solo es parte de un prelanzamiento de un interesante sistema que puede ayudar a los educadores a organizar sus clases, mejorando la interacción con los alumnos y simplificando su trabajo de asignaciones de tarea.

Al combinar diferentes servicios de Google como Gmail o Drive, se crea un espacio organizado con carpetas tanto para los maestros como los alumnos, mostrando las asignaciones, el desempeño, notas adicionales, entre otros.

De nuevo Google nos sorprende creando herramientas para el sector educativo. Esta vez, nos ofrece un lugar dónde compartir el trabajo de clase en la nube, pudiendo organizar las tareas, las comunicaciones y los archivos. Aún se encuentra en fase de desarrollo pero no deberíamos perderlo de vista.

O estudo, patrocinado pela Universidade de San Luiz (Argentina), agregou colaborações de muitos paises e revela os resultados da investigação sobre a utilização por professores e alunos de 19 plataformas de Sistemas de Gestão de Aprendizagem.

Já trouxemos aqui estudos sobre algumas das mais populares (Schology, Edmodo,  Udemy, etc.) mas esta investigação alarga o âmbito da comparação - centrada em critérios como a flexibilidade, usabilidade, interatividade, acessibilidade, entre outros - revelando alguns resultados, no mínimo, supreendentes.

Muito completo, esclarecedor e útil.
