Bacon Punctuation: A Sentence about Bacon for Every Use of Punctuation - Infographic

Bacon Punctuation: A Sentence about Bacon for Every Use of Punctuation - Infographic | Edu Technology | Scoop.it
“There are fifteen punctuation marks in the English language, each of which serves a variety of purposes. A couple months ago, I charted each of the fifteen punctuation marks in order of how much each punctuation mark does. As insightful as that may (or may not) have been, that chart didn't provide an example for all the ways to use punctuation marks. So my solution? I wrote a sentence for every single way to use each of the punctuation marks. And what better thing to write about in each sentence than America's favorite food?”

How to quit or kill multiple apps at once on your iPhone or iPad - iMore

How to quit or kill multiple apps at once on your iPhone or iPad - iMore | Edu Technology | Scoop.it

"Multitasking now provides full on background processing for every app — and intelligently so! Basically, iOS waits until it thinks you need something, then makes sure it's there when you do. If one app needs access to data, it organizes other apps that might need access too. This all combines to let your iPhone and iPad stay responsive, and your battery life stay long-lasting. But what happens when something goes wrong, or you decide you want to quit or kill an app and its processes? Easy! With the multitasking card view, you can close up to three apps at one!"

Moving at the Speed of Creativity | Lessons Learned Publishing to Lulu, Amazon and the Apple iBookStore (July 2014)

Moving at the Speed of Creativity | Lessons Learned Publishing to Lulu, Amazon and the Apple iBookStore (July 2014) | Edu Technology | Scoop.it

"Back in April, my 10 year old daughter (Rachel) shared a Google Document with me which was her fourth completed book, and her longest finished chapter book to date. She titled it, “Mature Little Me.” Inspired by Chris Simon, the STEM teacher at Independence Elementary School in Yukon, Oklahoma, from 2011-2013, it’s a fourth grade adventure story with some invention/maker flavor. Back in April I didn’t set aside the time needed to help with some edits and get it published online for Rachel, both as an eBook and a print-on-demand book via Lulu.com. This evening I spent about 3 hours editing and publishing her book, and learned a BUNCH as a result. I’ll attempt to document much of that learning in this post."

Slingshot - Share Your iOS/MAC Screen with Anyone Around the World! - teachingwithipad.org | Edu Technology | Scoop.it

"From the makers of the extremely popular Reflector (also featured onteachingwithipad.org) comes an exciting new application called Slingshot. If used to its full potential, Slingshot can bring together both educators and their students to collaborate and make presentations in a whole new way.

AirPlay mirroring has been an excellent feature in the classroom to promote wireless mobility while you circulate among your students. The features of Slingshot takes this capability one step further. Now, anyone who joins a session that you host will be able to see your screen as you teach (providing that they have a compatible device). The possibilities of this are plenty."

Select Paragraphs & Large Text Block Easily in iOS with a Two-Finger Tap - OSXDaily

Select Paragraphs & Large Text Block Easily in iOS with a Two-Finger Tap - OSXDaily | Edu Technology | Scoop.it

"Most iPhone and iPad users know that you can tap and hold onto any text within iOS to select it, then by using the little draggable bars, you can adjust the size of the text selection rather easily too. While this is great for selecting a single word, a sentence, and even a small block of text, it’s not so great for choosing to highlight large groups of words like a lengthy paragraph, or just a generally large block of text. But not to worry, it turns out that iOS has a much better way of selecting large text blocks in one fell swoop, and it uses an easy to remember tap gesture that seems to be so little known that it’d almost qualify as a secret."
