In my opinion, the measurement unit in Kindergarten math is the most difficult and takes the longest to teach due to the amount of language students needs to acquire.

iPads have certainly become a highly desired commodity in education. Apple is reporting that schools are purchasing iPads by a ratio of 2:1 over MacBooks. However, that rush to purchase the latest technologies often precedes the careful planning and preparation that’s crucial to their success as educational tools.

As teachers continue to explore student centered learning and student negotiated inquiry, it is important that students have tools that can help them work together, investigate, and create explanations of their deep understanding. iPads are a great tool for those goals and this helps schools see how best to begin that process... with careful planning!

Middletown,NY school district won a huge technology grant for 4 years. They are planning to go with purchasing 1:1 mobile devices. Kudos for that!

This is just a posting to showcase how lucky we are in the PYP framework to have the ability to provoke and support curiosity in our children like the teacher in this blog did. Yes! For PYP schools this is a role that is definitely needed. As schools continue to move toward learner centered practices, the role of technology and technology teachers needs to change as well.
