The real reason the Google home page is so bare is that way back when it was just starting out in a Silicon Valley garage, no one working there really knew how to program a web page to make it look pretty.

"Google Drive is full of options that often go overlooked. One of those options is privately sharing videos. To share videos through Google Drive upload them to your Google Drive account, preview them, then share by using the sharing options at the top of the preview screen. The sharing options allow you specify who can access the video. The screenshots below outline the process. (Click the images to view them in full size)."

Is iPad Teacher Training a Necessity? - teachingwithipad.org

Is iPad Teacher Training a Necessity? - teachingwithipad.org | Tech Tips and Tools for the Classroom | Scoop.it
"The following excerpt was taken from a recent article on Edudemic, by Adam Webster (@cagelessthink). "If you give a child a device they will sit and play with it until you ask them to stop and perhaps even after that they’ll still keep playing. If you give one to a teacher, they’ll do what they can when they can, but it might well sit in a drawer for a long while before they get the opportunity to really test drive it. Beyond the constraints of time, it is also worth remembering that there are plenty of teachers who learnt their trade in schools where technology simply didn’t exist and many who don’t see it’s value." I completely agree with this. Kids will learn by themselves if you give them the time. Teachers are so busy with prep work that they don't have time to play and discover the same amount that a child would. Even for myself, this summer, I haven't put too much thought into learning new developments for education in the iPad realm. When school comes again in about a month, this will undoubtedly change."

Google's New Program Pushes for Paperless Education | Tech Tips and Tools for the Classroom | Scoop.it

Google launched a new tool Tuesday designed to help teachers communicate more effectively with students as part of its Apps for Education suite.

Google Classroom is a resource similar to learning management systems like Canvas. It allows students to submit assignments via Google Drive and see when homework is due. Teachers are also able to leave comments and feedback on turned-in work, as well as post general announcements.
