Denzel VeryFast's curator insight, December 31, 2013 1:18 AM

Denzel VeryFast's insight:

Animals have developed overtime, depending on various defence mechanisms such as speed, camouflage, strength or even venom to protect themselves. This animal uses a sort of water which shoots out from its eye and causes skin irritation.Animals such as octopus can twist their body into lots of shapes to ward off predators and as well as lure their prey. Some have shocking skins just like the Crown of Thorns sea star.Their sharp pointy spikes not only poke through skin but injects poison in the attackers.Others just stay on their ground claiming that its their turf fighting with brute strength and strong teeth, like elephants and even large cats, predators often think twice.Although some animals are not so strong they use venom either to protect themselves from predators  or catch their prey, either way they will use their teeth or skin to injects it in the animal an example would be the poison dart frog. The most interesting thing is that cockroaches have lived over a million years because of their aweseome adaptations, they camouflage as their greatest defence.Economy still tries to get rid of this pesky insects.
