This is news, apparently. I'd have thought interest rates being 0.5% would have almost been filed under 'History' but there is some interest here.

I'm amused to see that the feeling is that there's unlikely to be any change in policy until the new Governor of the Bank of England arrives in July. Is economic policymaking really contingent upon just one man? Has it already been agreed that his first month in charge is going to be marked by a major change in policy direction and if so, is this ethical?

The commentary from the CBI's director of economics makes for interesting reading, outlining his take on the current state of the economy, and suggesting grounds for cautious optimism.
