Over 60 years the Soviet space program was responsible for a number of pioneering accomplishments in space flight, many of which are still referenced and celebrated today. Those include the very first intercontinental ballistic missile (1957), space satellite (Sputnik-1), animal in space (a dog called Laika on Sputnik 2), human in space (the world famous cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin on Vostok 1) and obviously first Moon impact (Luna 2).

Back in February, North Korea's local service provider Koryolink started allowing foreigners to access the internet on their mobile phones for the first time ever.

David Guttenfelder, the Associated Press' chief photographer in Asia, immediately began posting pictures from inside Pyongyang to his Instagram account. They quickly went viral.
