ebooks development
The new Apple version of Ibooks has been created as a mechanism for delivering interactive textbooks to those users. With the aid of a free authoring program, publishers and individuals can easily create educational content for distribution through the ITunes store. It took me four weeks to get my first e-book right, that was researching and very Sunday all day. I had some help but no one I could sit down with and say, " how do you do this? " Since then my students get an e-book or a pdf every Monday, and my life is much better. This Scoop will try to bring the best tips on e-book development but more so the new IBook author.

How To Make an eBook with iBooks Author Tutorial | Ray Wenderlich

How To Make an eBook with iBooks Author Tutorial | Ray Wenderlich | ebooks development | Scoop.it
In this iBooks Author tutorial, you'll learn how to create a book in iBooks Author from scratch - complete with embedded video, interactive quizzes, and more. You'll see how easy it is, and will be making your own book in no time!
Daniel Mullings's insight:

We are calling for a new generation in education to develop iBooks using two tools

Ibooks Author

iBooks Author makes it simple to flow in text, graphics, films and more, so your book looks exactly the way you want. Drag and drop a Pages or Microsoft Word document to the Book pane to add it as a new section. Then, when you drag and drop in images, your text automatically flows around them.

OS X Mavericks operating system

With OS X Mavericks, a new chapter in the iBooks story begins. Now you can launch the iBooks app on your Mac and the books you’ve already downloaded on your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch will automatically appear in your library. And there are over two million more books in the iBooks Store, ready for you to download with just a few clicks.

Reading books is intuitive and easy — turn pages with a swipe and zoom in on images with a pinch. If you’re a student hitting the books, keep as many open as you like and search through them with ease. And when you take notes, highlight passages or add a bookmark on your Mac, iCloud pushes them to all your devices automatically. iCloud even remembers which page you’re on. So if you start reading on your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch, you can pick up where you left off on your Mac.

you must already create lesson plans and resources so why not a Ibook?.

This way, you get to demonstrate your IT skills, work ethic and quality of learning resources, helping to make the teaching more efficient as teachers and developing material for todays learners.

Daniel Mullings's insight:

Someone said to me " did you know you scoop everybody's work but your own? "

It's true so to show you what can be done by a lecturer who is dyslexic and took a month to produce his first e-book her is my scoop.

I have a huge appreciation of Apple products so my iBooks is a real reflection of what I love doing. Since the launch of Ibooks author, I have become proficient in specialised hospitality and catering ibook.sI have so far created a diverse range of books for a mix of themes.

Is it easy?

No it takes time.

Can you make money from it?

You could but as a lecturer, I believe creating free books for my students is a duty which I enjoy carrying out.

Can you help me?

Yes feel free to email me any time if you need any help with an iBook.

Blended learning: technology: charter schools. This became more apparent in the events of yesterday. It's time now to at least try and change your views of technology in the classroom. One of my worst comments I have seen on a teacher's chat room was. How do you use an iPad? The amount of negative comments, including " use it as a table mat "

iBook Widgets - Widgets for iBooks Author | ebooks development | Scoop.it

Awesome widgets for iBooks Author. With the launch of the new ibooks author, this is a site that not only can be trusted but also gives you all the feedback and supports you need , all you have to do is ask. Several teachers have expressed creating ibooks and as a chef lecturer this is a widget site, I have found interesting in that way they are always looking at developing new widgets to help you. They have teachers license at a reasonable price which is well worth the money. For someone like me that has been writing Ibooks since it was first developed its good to see a company that is moving with the times.

Apple's plans in motion for iPad Mini, says DisplaySearch | ebooks development | Scoop.it

NPD DisplaySearch says Apple has a production plan for a small tablet. It's one of those things that if it comes about will expand the ibook market. I would love to predict that it will arrive until the fall, ( I don't know when the fall is I see all the time with Apple) it could come in November but when ever it does come we should be prepared if you want to make money.

Daniel Mullings's insight:

Remember back in the days when iBooks was introduced in 2010 for the iPad. With Mavericks, 3.5 years after iBooks came out for iOS, Mac OS X finally gets in on the action. Unlike iOS devices that have to download iBooks from the App Store, the Mac comes pre-loaded with it.

This is the time to fine tune those skills you have learnt over the years to educate and in some cases, start to make money.

If we are at a level where e are using apps in our lessons it makes sense if I expand the information what new sites can help us with for our lessons.

This is one of the first trials in promoting websites that give educational discount or a free service.

How many books are approved a day -...: Apple Support Communities

How many books are approved a day -...: Apple Support Communities | ebooks development | Scoop.it

I have been following this discussion since it started and found that if there is one thing, you should think about before spending ages in developing your book is. How long will it take to get published? Here is three peoples experience : 1. I've sent several follow-up emails as well and have had no response whatsoever. Is this normal? Yes, it is. The contact system through ITunes connects is discouraging. It seems like a black hole at times. 2. Yes - finally - the review process was grueling - VERY slow - and each time they came back with a different minor complaint (including one complaint that it does not work in portrait mode - but they provide the facility to lock it in landscape mode - which we did. 3.The first edition took five weeks to get " blessed " and published; the next took two weeks. The third took a couple of days, and the final edition was approved and published in a few hours. And the reason why must try is: I made about $500 my first month. I'm working on a new book right now. I wouldn't have been inspired to write a textbook without iBooks Author. Source: Linkin iBooks Author groupMore...
