Wearable technology needs more emphasis on fashion and beauty if it is to be succesful says solar-powered dress designer Pauline van Dongen.

This is a great start to integrating a power source into clothing.  I am interested in integrating solar cells into clothing in a way that does not look obvious... where the cells appear to be an embellishment rather than "I am wearing a set of solar cells".  Some type of "on- board" power source would be greatly beneficial for e-textiles in order to remove the reliance on batteries.

This is a great interview with Jennifer from Electric Foxy that showcases her design philosophy with wearable technology.  I was the apparel designer that collaborated with her on the Zip Jacket.  It was a very fun and challenging project.
