The University of Dundee claims to have reduced the time its central IT department takes to install software to over 1,300 academics from days to hours, after investing in  privilege management software.

The University of Dundee has invested in privilege management software from Avecto. With this software the students themselves can install software. But to prevent students for downloading other things, they have made up a list with the programs that are allowed to download. If they want another program, they can ask school for a approval.
