Hacking Design Thinking For Education Part 1: What Is Design Thinking?

Hacking Design Thinking For Education Part 1: What Is Design Thinking? | E-Learning Methodology | Scoop.it
Inspiration. Ideation. Implementation.

There are many ways of looking at the stages of the design thinking process. Many experts believe there are 5 stages to design thinking. Some cite 4 or 6. Others 7 or more.

And guess what? They are all probably correct!

And guess what else? I bet that all of them use Inspiration, Ideation, and Implementation in some way, shape, or form for they are the bare bones basic spaces all innovations go through.

Today, I give you the first Infographic in the Hacking Design Thinking For Education Series I am creating. This is Part 1: What Is design Thinking?

Lisa Nielsen: The Innovative Educator: How to Use Facebook Live for Learning: 5 Outcomes, 4 Things to Remember, 4 Mistakes to Avoid, 1 Great Video | E-Learning Methodology | Scoop.it

"It's no secret that livestreaming video that can be viewed later, is an incredibly powerful learning tool. In fact @MarkBarnes19 explained in this #HackLearning podcast, that livestreaming has the potential to break down the walls of school.

The problem is that despite we know this is true, it hasn't. The question is why?

The answer...

Because it's not that simple. Regardless of the platform, there are a lot of confusing little details. A Google Hangout on Air requires "7 Not So Simple Steps." There are platforms like UStream and Livestream, but still, not so simple and not so intuitive for others to find.  Some people use Skype add-ons and equipment to record, but add-ons and equipment are not that simple.

But, there's good news. That has all changed.

Facebook Live puts the simple into livestreaming. Seriously! If you can write a Facebook post, you can "Go Live!" Here's how:"

The connection between the digital age and the learning process is very interesting since it goes beyond the electronic devices as a learning tool. The author tries to provide some technological strategies in which students improve and give feedback to their learning process. I consider that our goal as teachers is to use technology not only as a device to give academic knowledge, we also need to implement technology as a tool which helps the learner to be autonomous, thoughtful and proactive.

Main findings

"The key finding of the study is that a common conceptual approach at European level, capable of supporting the development of digital capacity in educational organisations, is both desirable and attainable.

The DigCompOrg framework has seven key elements and fifteen sub-elements that are common to all education sectors. There is also scope for the addition of sectorspecific elements and sub-elements. For each of the elements and sub-elements of DigCompOrg, a number of descriptors were developed (74 in total). Diagrammatically, the elements, sub-elements and descriptors of DigCompOrg are presented as the sectors of a circle, with an emphasis on their inter-relatedness and inter-dependence."
