| E-Learning Methodology | Scoop.it

These factors (temperature, lighting, color, size of the room) may not always be under the teacher's control, but working to include student work, the proper amount of wall space, etc., could be beneficial for student achievement.

The Nellie Mae Education Foundation envisions an education system where learning transcends the traditional school calendar and setting. They envision a system where learners progress based upon mastery of a skill or topic, rather than time spent in a classroom.

And hey - learners shouldn't be bored in the classroom. Let's reshape our system so that learning is personalized, and learners have a true voice in their education.

The Nerdy Teacher: Making Is Not Just For STEM #MakerEd

The Nerdy Teacher: Making Is Not Just For STEM #MakerEd | E-Learning Methodology | Scoop.it
I'm an English teacher and I'm building a Makerspace. Since October, I've been raising funds and working out deals to put in a Makerspace in our school library. I've been working with our Media Specialist to make this happen and I've had wonderful support from our admin staff. We are close to having a completed space and have chosen to call it the Blue Devil Maker's Lounge. I had a chance to take my Freshmen down to the space to show it off and share with the students what will be possible in the space. While a bit stressful, the Maker's Lounge has been a great project where I have learned many different things from friends across the country and right at home in Michigan. However, there has been some skepticism.
