That’s Pinteresting! How Educators Use Pinterest Effectively

That’s Pinteresting! How Educators Use Pinterest Effectively | e-learning | Scoop.it

According to ABC News, Pinterest is currently among the top social websites that are highly utilized in the classroom. To cope up with the increasing demand, the creators of the social page announced last month their ‘Teachers in Pinterest’ campaign, a page where teachers can collaborate together about tips and lesson plans.

The app version of the website is also critically acclaimed by many websites such as CNET.com. In fact, Verizon Wireless provided an almost 5-star rating for the application based on data usage, security, and battery usage. Read more about it atwww.verizonwireless.com.

Enhancing the Learner Experience: 3 Tips to Make eLearning More Engaging

Enhancing the Learner Experience: 3 Tips to Make eLearning More Engaging | e-learning | Scoop.it

Many of our clients who are just getting into eLearning give us an enchanting reason for finally abandoning the libraries of presentation decks that they have been building for the past decade or so. They want to find a magical place where they can control and standardize the content, but still have learners engaged enough to care about the topic, remember the content, and improve their on-the-job performance. ELearning can do that. This is that magical place.

Or at least, it can be. To make it happen effectively and to see the vision of what my clients are hoping, it is essential to ask the question: What type of engagement are they looking for? Designing engaging web-based training is not as simple as choosing when and where learners click, swipe, watch or listen. It is about how the learner engages with the content, with the trainer, and with other learners.

Do Social Media Followers Really Matter?

Do Social Media Followers Really Matter? | e-learning | Scoop.it

Some people call the number of followers you have a “vanity metric,” but I think that’s too harsh a example of where social media followers reside. I prefer calling followers a “health metric.” They are an important part of your social analysis, but how many you have is somewhat irrelevant.

You can have strong relationships with your audience and even a high Klout score without having a ton of followers. To prove this point, here are the important factors that impact the number of followers you have....

What do you think?  Answer before reading if you can

Ali Anani's curator insight, November 4, 2013 12:59 AM

Interesting ideas, I guess too many and too little numbers of followers is not impacting. It is in between, the degree of which depends on many factors such as disposable items available, time spent on social networks, field of interests, engagement of followers and other ffactors.

Janine Lloyd's curator insight, November 4, 2013 1:32 AM

The amount of fans or followers you have is not necessarily a good metric of your brand or company's health. We need to move beyond fans and followers to more relevant content and engagement in social media to really win. Content helps define your brand, carries your message, and even grows your following.

We need to be looking at insights to delve into the quality of engagement, quality of followers, shareability and talkability.
