Infographics Become Easy As Pie, With This Disruptive Font

Infographics Become Easy As Pie, With This Disruptive Font | E-Learning and Online Teaching | Scoop.it

Excel is my worst enemy, as I’m a firm believer that spreadsheets should be a punishment mandated only by the federal and state government tax code. And that’s a shame, because you can make some robust graphs in Excel.

FF Chartwell is like a graphing tool for the rest of us. There are no cells to highlight or windows for values. Instead, you simply type the values you want in a graph, separated by plus signs. Then, as easily as you would swap a font, you can highlight the numbers and instantly transform them into several different, sharp-looking graphs...

An Interactive Infographic Maps The Future Of Emerging Technology

An Interactive Infographic Maps The Future Of Emerging Technology | E-Learning and Online Teaching | Scoop.it
Can speculation about the future of technology serve as a measuring stick for what we create today?

This interactive infographic makes predictions about everything from artificial intelligence and robotics to geoengineering and energy.  Mouse over the entries for blurbs describing them and links to more information; you won’t find much more than a Wikipedia page explanation, but that’s plenty helpful for the uninitiated.

30 Infographic Resumes for Inspiration

30 Infographic Resumes for Inspiration | E-Learning and Online Teaching | Scoop.it

A few years back, presenting an infographic résumé was something completely unthinkable, even if you were applying to a job where creativity and graphic skills were important. It simply didn’t happen. Then, with the rise of the online portfolios and social networks, it became more common to present professional background and skills with a more visual appeal.

Today, infographics seem to be everywhere and web services will transform your social media activity and LinkedIn profile into visual displays, making it possible for those without the necessary graphic abilities to have their own illustrated curriculum.

Though popular, the resume as infographic trend is fairly new to employers, so the best option for most professionals is to look at them as a supplement to the traditional format. If you decide to create your own, look around for examples- they range from the complex to those with a more minimalistic approach. Both types can be effective, if the objective is to stand out from the crowd...

Our infographic this week, courtesy of Visual.ly, shows us some of the possible changes that we might see in 8 years time. I’m sure we will see more people online as infrastructure, services and businesses start hooking up more to the net. This will mean more people, from a wider area of the world, from a wider variety of backgrounds, will be able to enjoy the benefits of the net and it won’t become a toy of the privileged richer nations. I’m talking about places such as the African continent, South America and Asia.
