The purpose of this series of articles is to provide an easy to understand technical explanation of how exactly the SCORM protocol works. One of the things that greatly surprised me when I first began working with SCORM was that there seemed to be a surprising lack of good, practical technical documentation Delete the scoop?

Dennis T OConnor's insight:
A free open program capable of outputting scorm is worth looking into. I have no personal experience with this product, but I'm always curious. Anyone out there who has building experience with GLO Maker? Delete the scoop?

Dennis T OConnor's insight:
Here's an overview video on corporate training oriented e-learning. The SCORM side of thinks guarantees compatibility with any SCORM compliant Course Management Systems (CMS). The Holy Grail of E-Learning (for me) is to build a beautiful resuable learning object (RLO) that engages a student's attention, then moves them through a series of experiences that teaches something meaningful. This video is a simple lecture. It doesn't really walk the engagement talk. But then sometimes, a 15 minute lecture will anwser questions and help you understand the big picture. Delete the scoop?

Udutu Online Course Authoring Tool is perfect for corporate trainers, software trainers, human resource managers, curriculum designers, sales professionals, account managers and small businesses.
Dennis T OConnor's insight:
I use UDUTU in my computer based training course which is part of UW-Stout's online Instructional Design Certificate program: http://www.uwstout.edu/soe/profdev/instructionaldesigncert.cfm Students learn how to design and execute a SCORM compliant reusable learning object. UDUTU provides a free online platform that helps you create an RLO. Rather than spend hundreds of dollars on a high end program like Captivate or Articulate, try UDUTU as you learn how to build training modules. Delete the scoop?
